Nova Scotia, Canada: Digitally Transforming Sustainable Mobility in Oceans

Tuesday, May 29, 2018

Halifax, Nova Scotia, May 29, 2018 – Part of Canada’s Ocean Supercluster, Nova Scotia is leading discussions on sustainable mobility in oceans at Movin’On, the World Summit on Sustainable Mobility.

“Nova Scotia is home to world-leaders and top industry experts in the ocean sector, and we’re proud to hear their voices at Movin’On,” said Laurel Broten, President and CEO of Nova Scotia Business Inc. “With a strong ecosystem of oceans experts, leaders in data analytics, and a collaborative environment, the ocean is where we shine.”

Home to Canada’s largest centre for oceans-related research, the province has the highest concentration of oceans-related PhDs in the world and more than 600 scientists, engineers, and technicians. Several delegates from this innovative ecosystem will attend the event, bringing together academic, political, business, and start-up leaders.

Understanding the ocean - its movement, life, and vitality - advances innovation in sustainable mobility. Nova Scotia companies are transforming ocean trade routes, marine data transmission, and oceans data analysis.

Nova Scotia businesses exhibiting at Movin’On include Xeos Technologies, QRA Corp, and Global Spatial Technology Solutions, who advance the sustainability, operational capability, and connectivity of assets in areas such as:

  • Underwater acoustics, sensing and imaging
