Modern Media, Innovative IT Marketing, Expands Workforce
Tuesday, March 18, 2008
Modern Media Inc., a homegrown
digital marketing company, is expanding in Nova Scotia, creating up to 100 new jobs in Halifax
within the next five years.
The company combines marketing intelligence and IT to analyze marketing effectiveness and help clients get their message to the right audience. Increasing demand for Modern Media's niche product and processes has prompted the expansion.
The province, through Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI), is supporting the growth with a payroll rebate to a maximum of $927,500. The rebate is earned as the company achieves hiring targets.
Economic Development Minister Angus MacIsaac made the announcement today, March 18, with Jamie Davison, president of Modern Media and Robert Daigle, NSBI's vice president of investment attraction.
"Modern Media is one of an emerging number of homegrown companies creating exciting new careers in Nova Scotia's knowledge economy," said Mr. MacIsaac. "This innovative, entrepreneurial company has carved a competitive niche in a global business."
Taking the guess work out of marketing, Modern Media is focused on working with companies to help them identify their customers and determine how to best communicate with them.
"Our growth is in response to today's demands. Marketing is shifting its emphasis from purely creative or brand awareness to more of a science and performance based process. All of these aspects need to work together to ensure a return on investment and reduce wasted marketing dollars," said Mr. Davison. "New export markets are opening for Modern Media and we're excited to expand our footprint in Nova Scotia."
Mr. Daigle said expertise is the driver of Modern Media's success.
"The company's talent has already proven itself, and we're looking forward to what Modern Media can achieve as it expands its dynamic and creative workforce here," said Mr. Daigle.
Modern Media's focus combines interactive intelligence with strategic marketing. Its unique proprietary research tool, SIFT Marketing Intelligence, analyzes online and offline consumer behaviour, providing their clients with powerful marketing information that leads to customer retention, growth and conversion. Businesses are then able to leverage new and traditional communications channels to connect targeted messages to targeted audiences.
Nova Scotia Business Inc. is Nova Scotia's private sector-led business development agency. NSBI is the investment attraction arm of the province and helps businesses in Nova Scotia meet growth potential through advisory services, trade development, financing and venture capital.
