Fleetway Inc. Expands, Creates High-skilled Jobs in Halifax

A leading Canadian naval engineering and technical services company, is expanding in Halifax. Fleetway Inc. will create up to 100 new jobs within five years.
The province, through Nova Scotia Business Inc., announced today, Dec. 10, it is supporting Fleetway's expansion with a payroll rebate to a maximum of $1,547,000. The five-year rebate is a performance-based incentive tied to hiring targets.
Part of the Irving Group, Fleetway serves major clients in the Canadian defence, shipbuilding, oil and gas, and other sectors.
"Fleetway has a multi-year contract with the Canadian Navy as in-service support contractor for upgrades to our country's major naval ships, and we plan to keep growing," said Norman Brown, vice-president, Fleetway Inc.
Fleetway is headquartered in Halifax, which is home to more than 40 per cent of Canada's military assets. The company also has satellite offices in Ottawa and Victoria, serving the Department of National Defence.

Fleetway's new jobs in Halifax will include engineers, technical staff and management positions.

Fleetway will mark its 25th anniversary in 2009. The company has offices in Halifax, Ottawa, Victoria and Saint John, N.B.
