1. What is the Exporter Self-Assessment Tool?

The Exporter Self-Assessment Tool is an online, six-question tool designed to help businesses assess their export readiness, identify potential challenges to exporting, and provide links to relevant export development resources in the following areas:

  • Financial Resources
  • Management Expertise
  • Export Strategy

2. How does the Exporter Self-Assessment Tool help businesses become new or better exporters?
 
The Exporter Self-Assessment Tool was developed to help businesses easily tap into market information, resources, and how-to’s on exporting. The tool is online, quick, and visually provides each business with a picture of its export strengths. It also automatically generates a customized list of resources and an individual export assessment score. 
 
3. Who should use the Exporter Self-Assessment Tool?
 
The Exporter Self-Assessment Tool is available to any Nova Scotia business. Whether a business has been exporting for years, or is just getting started, the Exporter Self-Assessment Tool was designed to help each business realize its export potential. 
 
4. Does the Exporter Self-Assessment Tool collect any personal or private information?

The Exporter Self-Assessment Tool does not collect personal information. If you would like to receive your results by email, you will be asked to provide your email address. Once you submit your email, you will be asked if you would like to speak with a Regional Business Development Advisor. Both steps are optional. All information collected on the NSBI website is protected by the Information Access and Privacy Statement.
